Blackmagic Design has released a major update to its Camera app, introducing direct streaming to YouTube, Twitch, and Vimeo along with SRT support for smoother, more reliable live broadcasts on Android and iOS.

Blackmagic Design has rolled out a major update to its popular Blackmagic Camera app, introducing a powerful new set of tools for streamers, content creators, and professional broadcasters.

Available now on both Android and iOS, the latest version allows users to stream directly to YouTube, Twitch, and Vimeo, no third-party applications, external encoders, or additional hardware required.

With just a few taps, users can choose their desired platform, enter a secure stream key, and begin broadcasting instantly.

Direct Streaming Made Simple

The new update streamlines the live streaming process by integrating it directly within the Blackmagic Camera app. Creators can now go live instantly while maintaining full control over essential camera settings, including:

  • Exposure
  • White balance
  • Focus adjustments
  • Frame rate and resolution

This ensures that even during a live broadcast, creators can fine-tune visuals for professional-grade production quality, all from a smartphone.

Whether streaming a live event, vlog, or behind-the-scenes footage, users benefit from Blackmagic’s signature color science and image processing.

Support for SRT and Custom Servers

One of the most notable additions in this update is support for SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), an industry-standard streaming protocol widely used in professional broadcasting.

SRT enables smoother, more resilient streaming performance, especially over unstable or variable network conditions, by dynamically adjusting data delivery to minimize buffering and lag.

This makes it a game changer for mobile live streamers, journalists, and remote creators who often depend on mobile or public internet connections.

Additionally, the app now supports custom RTMP and SRT server connections, giving professionals the flexibility to integrate with private streaming servers, broadcast systems, and content delivery networks (CDNs).

Professional Tools for Mobile Creators

Beyond streaming, the Blackmagic Camera app continues to offer the comprehensive manual controls and cinematic features that have made it a favorite among filmmakers and professionals. Users can record in Blackmagic RAW, monitor audio levels, and access advanced settings like ISO, shutter angle, and LUTs, features rarely seen in mobile camera apps.

With this update, the app effectively bridges the gap between mobile content creation and broadcast-grade production workflows.

Available Now on Android and iOS

The latest version of the Blackmagic Camera app is available for free download from the App Store and Google Play Store.

Whether you’re a YouTube creator, Twitch streamer, or professional broadcaster, this update makes it easier than ever to produce, control, and stream high-quality video content directly from your mobile device.
