LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky has revealed that he relies heavily on Microsoft’s Copilot AI to draft nearly every email he sends, including important messages to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and other high-profile leaders.
The disclosure came during a fireside chat at LinkedIn’s San Francisco office, details of which were reported by Business Insider.
Why Ryan Roslansky Uses Microsoft Copilot
Roslansky explained that the AI tool helps him carefully craft messages where tone, precision, and professionalism matter most.
“A lot of the time when I’m sending a super high-stakes email to Satya Nadella or other CEOs or world leaders… you’ve got to make sure you sound super smart,” he said.
He clarified that his use of Copilot is not passive automation. Instead, the tool engages him in an interactive drafting process, asking questions to help refine tone and structure. This allows him to shape personalized, high-quality responses rather than relying on a simple “AI reply” feature.
Roslansky admitted he now uses Copilot for “every important email, without a doubt, on a daily basis.”
LinkedIn’s Growth Under Roslansky
Since taking over as CEO, Roslansky has overseen a period of major growth at LinkedIn:
- Annual revenue has more than doubled, climbing from $7 billion in 2019 to nearly $17 billion in 2024.
 - LinkedIn has expanded its global influence, now boasting over one billion members, cementing its claim as “the world’s largest professional network.”

AI’s Growing Role in Business
Roslansky’s heavy reliance on AI mirrors a broader trend in business, where artificial intelligence tools are becoming embedded in executive decision-making and corporate workflows.
Globally, AI adoption is expected to accelerate, with analysts projecting that AI will add $15.7 trillion to the world economy by 2030.
For business leaders, this highlights a future where tools like Microsoft Copilot may play an increasingly central role in shaping communication, productivity, and strategy.
Key Takeaway
Ryan Roslansky’s open embrace of Microsoft Copilot AI underscores the growing integration of AI in executive communication. What was once seen as a futuristic productivity tool is now a daily business essential, even at the highest levels of leadership.
