The Federal Ministry of Education has introduced Inspire Live(s), a national digital learning platform that streams daily live classes to JSS and SSS students. The initiative tackles teacher shortages, supports underserved schools, and ensures uniform access to quality lessons across Nigeria.

The Federal Ministry of Education has launched Inspire Live(s), a nationwide digital learning platform providing real-time online classes to students across Nigeria. The initiative ensures that Junior and Senior Secondary School learners receive daily lessons, regardless of where they live or the availability of teachers in their schools.

The Ministry confirmed that classes take place Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and are delivered by certified master teachers through Cisco Webex.

Extensive Subject Coverage for JSS and SSS Levels

For Junior Secondary School (JSS) students, the platform offers a variety of subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science, Agricultural Science, ICT, Civic Education, French, and History.

At the Senior Secondary School (SSS) level, students can participate in live lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Technical Drawing, Civic Education, among other key subjects.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Chief (Dr.) Maruf Tunji Alausa, stated that the platform is now fully active and will gradually expand to include learners from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3 as the rollout advances across the country.

Bridging Gaps Caused by Teacher Shortages

The Ministry explained that Inspire Live(s) is designed to close long-standing disparities in classroom instruction, especially in states where schools struggle with insufficient numbers of subject teachers. These shortages often result in inconsistent access to essential subjects during the school year.

With this centralized system, students nationwide are able to receive uniform lessons simultaneously, improving equity and ensuring that all learners access standardised educational content.

Remote and under-resourced schools, particularly those lacking teachers in specific disciplines—can now benefit from structured, ministry-approved lessons that align with national curriculum expectations.

Maintaining School Routines Through Centralized Teaching

The program’s fixed daily schedule helps schools maintain their existing routines. While master teachers conduct lessons online, on-site school staff supervise students during each session, ensuring participation and classroom order.

State-Level Coordination and School Requirements

As part of the rollout strategy, the Ministry has instructed State Commissioners for Education to appoint State Focal Officers responsible for coordinating program activities.

Schools are expected to:

  • Inform principals about the initiative
  • Ensure ICT equipment is functional
  • Provide stable internet access for learners
  • Manage registration via Inspire Live(s) support channels

The platform is open to both public and private schools nationwide. Additional information, registration support, and technical assistance are available on the Inspire website, where desk officers are assigned to guide participating schools.
