OPay has opened a newly upgraded office in Ibadan as part of its ongoing expansion of physical support centres across Nigeria. The new facility is built to enhance service delivery for SMEs, merchants, corporate clients, and millions of users across Oyo State. The launch event brought together partners, business leaders, agents, and key stakeholders within the fintech sector.
The Ibadan branch is the first fully modernised centre unveiled under OPay’s new renovation programme. With 28 offices across 25 states, the company plans to upgrade all its locations to this standard in the coming year. The new centre will operate as a major hub for customer support, merchant onboarding, and product demonstrations.
OPay Reinforces Its Commitment to User Accessibility
OPay executives explained that the new Ibadan office reflects the company’s mission to provide reliable, secure, and easily accessible financial services to Nigerians. While most OPay transactions happen online, the company acknowledged that many users still prefer in-person assistance for certain issues.
OPay’s Chief Commercial Officer, Elizabeth Wang, stated that the upgraded facility was established to serve customers who favour physical touchpoints. She added that the Ibadan centre is the first of several redesigned offices expected to open nationwide.
Boosting Merchant Experience and Customer Interaction
According to OPay, the newly launched centre is designed to deepen customer engagement and improve service quality.
Odiase Ikponmwosa, Head of Partnerships, noted that the modernised office will allow customers and merchants to resolve issues faster and provide more accurate feedback.
The Ibadan centre will also make it easier for SMEs to sign up as merchants, strengthen business support services, and serve as a dedicated space for live product testing and demonstrations.
Advancing Financial Inclusion Across Nigeria
The expansion aligns with OPay’s long-term commitment to promoting financial inclusion. With over 20 million daily active users, the fintech enables payments, transfers, savings, lending, and a range of merchant services at scale.
OPay is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), insured by the NDIC, and has implemented advanced security tools, including Face ID verification and upgraded fraud-prevention systems, to keep users protected.
