Some months ago, Moniepoint one of the most funded startups in the country gathered all its engineers from all corners of the world, including outposts in Europe and other African countries under one roof.

Moniepoint Inc, a leading digital financial services provider in Africa, has opened applications for the second cohort of its flagship DreamDevs initiative, designed to develop and upskill Nigeria’s tech talent by equipping graduates with practical, industry-ready skills.

The programme is a nationwide search for talented graduates in technology, computer science, engineering, and related disciplines, with a focus on candidates possessing foundational skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Hands-On Bootcamp and Career Opportunities

Each year, 20 top candidates are selected to participate in a nine-week intensive bootcamp, where participants receive mentorship from experienced software engineers.

Outstanding performers earn six-month internship placements at Moniepoint, with the potential to secure full-time positions based on their performance.

The first cohort yielded four hires, including three interns and one full-time engineer, demonstrating DreamDevs’ effectiveness as a high-impact talent pipeline for Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Leadership Emphasises Programme Impact

Felix Ike, Co-Founder and CTO of Moniepoint, commented on the programme’s early success:

“Our first cohort proved that Africa’s young tech talent can compete on a global scale. This year, we’re committed to converting half of the participants into full-time employees.”

Ike added that DreamDevs supports Moniepoint’s mission to leverage technology to empower millions and drive Africa’s digital economy forward.

Complementing Moniepoint’s Broader Talent Initiatives

DreamDevs complements other Moniepoint programmes, including:

  • HatchDev, in partnership with NITHub Unilag, produces 500 specialised developers annually in software engineering, IoT, and intelligent systems.
  • Women-in-Tech, now in its fifth year, promotes gender diversity in the tech industry.

The initiative also aligns with the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, creating a full pipeline from training to employment.

“By equipping young graduates with practical experience and supporting product development, we are driving both job creation and sustainable economic growth across the continent,” Ike said.

Testimonial from First Cohort

Victor Adepoju, a Backend Engineer at Moniepoint and first cohort participant, said:

“The programme provided in-depth training in cloud technologies, especially Google Cloud Platform, alongside essential soft skills like planning and prioritisation, which I use every day in my role.”

How to Apply

Selection is based on technical skills, learning potential, and alignment with Moniepoint’s values of innovation and excellence.

Interested graduates can apply by January 20, 2026, via dreamdevs.moniepoint.com.

DreamDevs offers recent Nigerian graduates a chance to gain hands-on experience, enhance their technical skills, and build careers in Africa’s growing digital economy.
