Baims, an AI-first education technology company operating across the Middle East, has expanded into Iraq following its acquisition of MedMasters, strengthening its growing regional footprint.
The move marks Baims’ official entry into the Iraqi market and follows its earlier acquisition of Orcas in Egypt, underscoring a broader strategy to build a connected, cross-border digital learning ecosystem across the region.
Announcing the deal, Bader Al-Rasheed, co-founder and chief product officer of Baims, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s mission to make high-quality education more accessible and flexible through the use of artificial intelligence.
Al-Rasheed credited the company’s expansion drive to the leadership of Yousef Alhusaini, Baims’ co-founder and chief executive officer, citing his “clarity and speed” in executing the company’s regional growth strategy.
He also praised the MedMasters leadership, including Abdulazeez Salam and Zaid Al-Zamili, for building a platform that supports medical students and educators in Iraq. Al-Rasheed said Baims is eager to scale the platform and enhance its user experience by integrating advanced AI-driven learning tools.
With operations spanning Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and now Iraq, Baims is positioning itself as a regional EdTech powerhouse. The company said the MedMasters acquisition reinforces its long-term vision of transforming education across the Middle East by combining local expertise with intelligent, technology-driven solutions.
Baims added that further strategic investments and partnerships are expected as it continues to expand access to digital learning and modernise education delivery across emerging markets in the region.
