Facebook hosted a VIP Lounge at Lagos Fashion Week 2025, celebrating creativity, culture, and community. The event showcased how Nigerian creators use Facebook tools like Reels, Groups, and Marketplace to connect and grow.

Facebook celebrated creativity, connection, and community at its exclusive VIP Hub during Lagos Fashion Week 2025, one of Africa’s biggest fashion events. The three-day experience, themed “The Lounge Experience,” brought together young adults, designers, creatives, and influencers to highlight how Facebook empowers creators and fosters meaningful cultural conversations.

Facebook’s Lounge Celebrates Creativity and Community

The Facebook Lounge was a vibrant, interactive space designed to connect creators, celebrities, and fashion enthusiasts. Guests enjoyed immersive experiences including photo sessions, Facebook-themed games, and a Reels Booth that encouraged attendees to create short-form videos showcasing the creativity and energy of Lagos Fashion Week.

Celebrities and creators such as Betty Ansah, Nonye Udeogu, Hawa Magaji, Thelma Lawson, Larry Hector, Jola Ayeye, and Okusaga were in attendance. The event reflected Facebook’s growing influence in Nigeria’s creator economy, helping bridge fashion, tech, and digital culture.

Facebook Highlights How Young Nigerians Use Its Tools

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Oluwasola Obagbemi, Head of Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, said:

“Facebook is a leading place for conversations around cultural moments, not just here in Nigeria but across the globe. Events like Lagos Fashion Week highlight how our platform brings people together to celebrate creativity, culture, and community in real time.”

According to Facebook, more young adults in Nigeria are using the platform to discover interests, express themselves, and connect with others through tools like Facebook Marketplace, Groups, and Reels.

“We’re inspired by how young adults in Nigeria are using Facebook tools like Marketplace, where fashion is the largest category, along with Reels and Groups to express themselves, build communities, and turn their passions into opportunities,” Obagbemi added.

Creators Bring the Lounge to Life

Throughout the three-day event, Joseph Onaolapo (Jay On-Air) and fashion creator Nonye Udeogu (Thisthingcalledfashion) hosted live interviews and conversations from the Lounge. These sessions gave audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how creators use Meta tools, including Reels, Groups, and Meta AI, to build thriving online communities.

The Facebook Lounge demonstrated how the social media giant continues to empower creators and celebrate culture, emphasizing Meta’s mission to help people explore their interests, build communities, and connect in meaningful ways.
