The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the 3MTT National Impact Challenge, a nationwide initiative aimed at amplifying the impact of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme and empowering more than 1.8 million Nigerians within its talent pipeline.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, through a post on his official X account, where he highlighted the programme’s transition from pilot to full-scale implementation.
3MTT Transitions From Pilot to Nationwide Scale-Up
According to Tijani, the 3MTT programme has recorded significant milestones since its launch, laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s digital workforce development.
Key achievements so far include:
- Training over 135,000 Nigerians across three cohorts
- Reaching 300,000+ learners via community-based learning resources
- Enabling 15,000 job and opportunity pathways across the digital economy
He added that over 1.8 million Nigerians are currently in the 3MTT pipeline, as the government advances toward its goal of equipping three million citizens with globally relevant digital skills.
“As we move into the scale-up phase, our priority is deepening impact, strengthening alumni networks, expanding access to opportunities, and ensuring skills result in real economic outcomes,” Tijani stated.
