The initiative empowered 40 women entrepreneurs and senior government leaders with the skills and confidence to succeed in the fast-evolving digital economy.

A Growing Platform for Women in Digital Transformation

Launched in 2021, the Huawei Women in Tech initiative has become a powerful incubator for women eager to embrace technology. Over the years, more than 300 participants have successfully completed the programme.

The training blends hands-on leadership development with exposure to the latest digital innovations, equipping participants with tools to lead transformation in both the private and public sectors.

Government and Business Leaders Among Participants

This year’s cohort featured a diverse group of participants, including:

  • Women business owners driving entrepreneurship.
  • Senior officials from key South African government institutions such as:
    • Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL)
    • Department of Small Business Development (DSBD)
    • Department of Digital Technologies (DCDT)

By combining voices from business and government, the programme fosters cross-sector collaboration and strengthens South Africa’s digital ecosystem.
