Samsung and NVIDIA Partner to Build World’s First AI Factory, Pioneering the Future of Intelligent Chip Manufacturing

Samsung and NVIDIA have joined forces to create the world’s first AI factory, combining advanced chip manufacturing with intelligent computing powered by NVIDIA GPUs — marking a new era in autonomous semiconductor production and digital transformation.

In a groundbreaking move that could redefine the future of semiconductor manufacturing, NVIDIA and Samsung Electronics have announced plans to build the world’s first AI factory, a revolutionary facility that merges chip manufacturing and intelligent computing at scale.

The partnership brings together Samsung’s world-leading semiconductor technologies and NVIDIA’s AI computing platforms, establishing the foundation for next-generation, AI-driven production and autonomous manufacturing environments.

The Dawn of the AI Industrial Revolution

The state-of-the-art factory will integrate over 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs, making it a centerpiece of Samsung’s digital transformation. The facility will seamlessly embed accelerated computing into advanced chip manufacturing processes, enabling AI-powered decision-making, predictive maintenance, and autonomous operations.

According to Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA:

“We are at the dawn of the AI industrial revolution, a new era that will redefine how the world designs, builds and manufactures. Samsung is forging its AI foundation with NVIDIA to lead the future of intelligent and autonomous manufacturing.”

A 25-Year Partnership Reinventing the Future

The collaboration between Samsung and NVIDIA builds on a partnership spanning more than 25 years. From supplying DRAM for NVIDIA’s first graphics card in 1995 to co-developing cutting-edge memory solutions such as HBM3E and HBM4, the two companies have long been at the forefront of technological innovation.

Jay Y. Lee, Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics, highlighted the significance of this new venture:

“From Samsung’s DRAM for NVIDIA’s first graphics card to our new AI factory, we are thrilled to continue our journey together in shaping the future of AI manufacturing and setting new global standards.”

The companies will extend their collaboration beyond high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and GDDR technologies to include custom semiconductor solutions, SoC design, and foundry services supporting the wider AI ecosystem.

AI-Driven Chip Design and Digital Twin Integration

Samsung is leveraging NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA-X™ libraries, and tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens to accelerate circuit simulation, verification, and manufacturing analysis. These collaborations are reshaping GPU-accelerated electronic design automation (EDA) tools essential for the AI era.

The factory will also integrate NVIDIA Omniverse™ for digital twin simulations, creating a virtual model of real-world manufacturing environments. This approach allows Samsung to reduce design-to-production time and enable AI-driven predictive maintenance, real-time decision-making, and factory automation across its fabs.

Accelerating Intelligent Logistics and Lithography

Samsung is deploying NVIDIA RTX PRO™ Servers equipped with RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs to optimize factory logistics and operations through real-time digital twin technology. This enables operational planning, anomaly detection, and logistics optimization, moving closer to a fully autonomous fab.

For computational lithography, one of the most demanding stages in chip manufacturing. Samsung is integrating NVIDIA’s cuLitho library into its advanced optical proximity correction (OPC) systems. This collaboration delivers 20x performance improvements, drastically reducing processing time and power consumption in semiconductor production.

Expanding AI to Robotics and Telecommunications

Beyond manufacturing, Samsung is using NVIDIA robotics technologies and the Jetson Thor™ edge AI platform to power the next generation of intelligent robotics, from factory automation to humanoid robot applications.

Using the NVIDIA Isaac Sim™ reference application built on Omniverse and Cosmos™ world foundation models, Samsung is bridging synthetic and real-world data to deploy robots that can understand and interact with their environment in real time.

Additionally, Samsung and NVIDIA are collaborating with Korean telecom operators and academic institutions to develop AI-RAN network technology, integrating AI and mobile network workloads, a critical step toward the adoption of physical AI.

Redefining the Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing

The Samsung–NVIDIA AI factory represents more than a technological collaboration, it is a bold step into a new era of intelligent manufacturing. By combining semiconductor innovation with AI-driven automation, the two companies are setting a global benchmark for the next generation of production ecosystems.
