The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Communication Telecommunications and Digital Economy Senegal have signed a new agreement to deepen collaboration on digital development initiatives in Senegal.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), announced by UNDP Senegal, outlines a strategic partnership focused on advancing digital governance, expanding digital inclusion, and promoting the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
According to both parties, the initiative is designed to support Senegal’s broader digital transformation agenda by leveraging technology to improve public service delivery, widen access to digital opportunities, and stimulate innovation across key sectors of the economy.
The partnership is also expected to drive inclusive digital growth by ensuring that underserved communities benefit from new technologies, while strengthening institutional capacity to manage digital systems effectively.
Officials say the collaboration positions Senegal to further establish itself as a regional hub for digital innovation, as African countries increasingly prioritise technology-driven development strategies.
