Global Afrobeats icon and Grammy winner Tems has once again made headlines, earning a dual spotlight in Spotify Wrapped 2025. She ranked among Nigeria’s most-exported artists worldwide and secured her place as the second most-streamed female artist in the country.

Spotify’s new 2025 figures show Ayra Starr retaining the crown as Nigeria’s most-streamed woman, with Tems coming in right behind her. Tems’s continued rise reinforces her status as a cultural trailblazer, she remains the first Nigerian to win two Grammy Awards and the first African female musician to surpass 1 billion Spotify streams for her global hit “Wait for U.”

Other women in the Top 10 most-streamed female artists include Smur Lee, Tiwa Savage, Rihanna, Sunmisola Agbebi, and others.

Fast-rising star Smur Lee continued gaining traction in 2025 with collaborations blending street-hop influences and Amapiano rhythms.

Gospel artist Sunmisola Agbebi also secured a firm position in the rankings, proving Nigeria’s ongoing passion for inspirational and faith-driven music, genres that continue to thrive alongside Afrobeats on national playlists.

Nigerian music maintained its strong global presence this year. The Top 5 most-exported artists from Nigeria in 2025 are:

  3. Rema
  4. Ayra Starr
  5. Wizkid

The results show that Tems is not just dominating locally, she is now one of the key figures driving Nigerian music across global markets.

Meanwhile, Rema’s “Calm Down” (feat. Selena Gomez) remained the most-exported Nigerian song worldwide for the third year running, a testament to the enduring influence of Nigerian rhythm on global pop culture.
