Two Nigerian technology giants, Zinox Technologies and TD Africa, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at deepening Africa’s digital ecosystem and expanding the reach of locally manufactured technology solutions across the continent.

The collaboration, unveiled at a press conference on Friday, is expected to significantly boost the distribution of indigenous tech products while advancing digital inclusion and reducing Africa’s dependence on imported technologies.

Under the agreement, Zinox will leverage TD Africa’s extensive distribution network spanning 43 countries to scale its presence across Africa. TD Africa is already a major distributor for global brands such as HP, Microsoft, Dell and Cisco.

Speaking at the event, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, Chioma Chimere, described the partnership as a defining moment for Africa’s tech industry.

“Today represents a moment where Africa meets Africa,” she said, emphasizing the importance of homegrown innovation in solving local challenges.

Executive Director and HR Head at Zinox, Chioma Nwoke, noted that the partnership aligns with the company’s long-standing vision of building reliable technology standards within Africa. According to her, the collaboration extends beyond profit to include digital education, enterprise growth, and nation-building.

“This partnership sends a strong signal that African technology can compete, innovate and lead,” she said.

Highlighting the company’s innovation track record, Zinox’s Head of Research and Development, Moses Edoh, stated that the firm pioneered hybrid inverter technology in Nigeria and continues to design products tailored to local needs.

Zinox’s portfolio includes computers, tablets, smart boards, point-of-sale systems, and renewable energy products such as solar panels, hybrid inverters, and batteries. The company also produces generators through its iTEC division and consumer electronics including AI-powered smart TVs and home appliances.

Industry stakeholders at the event commended the durability and reliability of Zinox products, urging greater adoption of locally manufactured technology as a viable alternative to foreign brands.

With TD Africa’s distribution strength backing Zinox’s offerings, customers across the continent are expected to gain improved access to innovative and affordable tech solutions. The partnership will also promote flexible access models such as Technology as a Service (TaaS), Product as a Service (PaS), and the Just Own It (JOI) scheme.

Analysts say the deal marks a significant step toward strengthening indigenous manufacturing, expanding market reach, and positioning Africa as a competitive player in the global technology landscape.

Tinubu Hails Zinox Founder at 70

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has congratulated Leo Stan Ekeh, Founder and Chairman of Zinox Group, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a pioneering force in Nigeria’s technology sector.

Tinubu praised Ekeh’s role in launching indigenous computer manufacturing in 2001, calling it a “groundbreaking moment” for Nigeria’s tech industry, and commended his continued contributions to innovation, job creation, and national development.
