The Togolese government has officially launched a cybersecurity training programme for 250 professionals aimed at boosting the country’s digital resilience against rising cyber threats. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation through the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy), seeks to equip participants with globally recognized certifications in cybersecurity
Strengthening Togo’s Cybersecurity Capacity
The training programme, unveiled in Lomé, is part of Togo’s broader strategy to secure its digital infrastructure and build capacity in both the public and private sectors. Out of the 250 participants, 200 professionals are expected to graduate with certifications, significantly strengthening the nation’s pool of cybersecurity experts.
Implemented in partnership with the Togo Digital Agency (ATD) and supported by the ProDigiT project (Digital Transformation of the Togolese Economy) from GIZ Togo, the programme is co-financed by Germany, Luxembourg, and the European Union.
Three Internationally Recognized Cybersecurity Certifications
Participants will receive training in three globally recognized certifications:
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
- Focus: Design and management of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) in line with the ISO 27001 standard.
- Career Path: Prepares professionals for roles such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
- ISO 27035 Lead Incident Manager
- Focus: Specialized training in security incident management and incident response in line with the ISO 27035 standard.
- Career Path: Prepares participants for roles as Information Security Incident Managers.
- CompTIA Security+Focus: Core training in network security, threat management, and system protection.
- Career Path: Opens pathways to careers such as security analyst, system administrator, cybersecurity consultant, or risk management specialist.
Exclusive Selection Process for Togolese Nationals
The programme targets Togolese nationals residing in Togo with at least a Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in computer science and prior experience in IT support, cybersecurity, or network and systems administration.
Candidates were chosen through a rigorous and inclusive competitive process, ensuring only the most qualified professionals were selected.

By equipping professionals with international certifications and advanced digital security skills, the initiative will contribute to safeguarding the information systems of the Togolese State, businesses, and institutions.
This step marks another milestone in Togo’s digital transformation strategy, reinforcing its ambition to become a regional leader in cybersecurity and digital governance.
