The highlight of the visit to the LTA headquarters was an interactive session where LGGA members distributed cookies and brownies printed with cybersecurity tips, turning digital safety education into a memorable experience.
The event opened with a theatrical skit performed by LGGA members, dramatizing the dangers of cyber scams and the importance of vigilance online. Through humor, storytelling, and role-play, the young guides brought complex cybersecurity issues to life in a relatable and entertaining way.
The performance set the tone for deeper discussions on cybersecurity awareness, encouraging participants to think critically about how they interact with digital tools and protect personal information.
LTA’s Cybersecurity Month Activities
The visit was part of the LTA’s Cybersecurity Month program, organized under the Department of International Gateway Services and Internet Governance, led by Commissioner Angela Cassell-Bush.
Throughout October, the LTA has hosted multiple initiatives aimed at promoting safe digital practices, strengthening cyber resilience, and fostering responsible online behavior across Liberia’s public and private sectors.
After the performance, LGGA members toured the LTA headquarters, engaging with staff in interactive discussions and distributing cyber safety-themed treats labeled with practical reminders, such as “Think Before You Click” and “Protect Your Passwords.”
The campaign highlighted simple yet powerful actions individuals can take daily to safeguard both personal and institutional data.
Leaders Commend the Youth Initiative
LTA Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi praised the LGGA for their innovative and youth-driven approach to public education, emphasizing that cyber awareness begins with community engagement.
“We commend the Liberia Girl Guides for creatively promoting cyber awareness. Their energy and innovation show how young people can play a vital role in building our national cybersecurity culture,” Massaquoi said.
He reaffirmed the LTA’s commitment to supporting youth-led initiatives that enhance cyber resilience and encourage digital responsibility among all Liberians.
