Ericsson and specialized by stc have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the rollout of advanced, AI-driven public safety and mission-critical communication solutions across Saudi Arabia.

The agreement was announced on the sidelines of the World Defense Show in Riyadh, underscoring the Kingdom’s push to strengthen national resilience through cutting-edge digital infrastructure.

Under the collaboration, specialized by stc’s nationwide digital platforms will be combined with Ericsson’s global expertise in secure, high-availability networks to support police, ambulance, civil defence and emergency-management teams. The partnership aims to deliver reliable, real-time tools such as mission-critical push-to-talk and push-to-video services, AI-powered incident analytics and high-precision location capabilities.

By integrating Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and smart-vehicle systems into unified communication frameworks, the initiative is expected to shorten response times, improve coordination among first responders and enhance overall community safety.

As part of the MoU, both companies will conduct joint validation programmes and field trials designed to simulate high-pressure emergency scenarios, ensuring uninterrupted and secure communications when demand is at its peak.

Khaled Aldharrab, Chief Executive Officer of specialized by stc, said the partnership represents a major step in supporting Saudi Arabia’s public safety ecosystem. “Together, we will co-develop solutions that strengthen emergency response, improve coordination and provide robust communications for the Kingdom’s front-line teams,” he said.

Håkan Cervell, President of Ericsson Saudi Arabia, noted that the collaboration aligns with the Kingdom’s long-term digital ambitions. “By combining Ericsson’s resilient network capabilities with specialized by stc’s digital infrastructure, we are helping advance Vision 2030, enabling first responders to act quickly and confidently when every second matters,” he said.

Ericsson and stc have a long-standing partnership focused on delivering secure, future-ready connectivity solutions that support critical services and national priorities, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s drive toward digital transformation and enhanced public safety.
