Egyptian Customer Experience Platform Tactful AI Raises $1m Pre-Series A
Tactful AI, an Egyptian-born customer experience (CX) technology company, has raised $1 million in pre-Series A funding to accelerate product development and international expansion.
The funding round was co-led by Foras AI and M Empire, with additional participation from deep-tech angel investors. The capital will be used to strengthen the company’s presence in Egypt, explore new markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and expand research and development focused on AI scalability and platform integrations.
Rapid growth and enterprise traction
Tactful AI develops an AI-powered, agentic customer experience platform that enables enterprises to automate customer service workflows while retaining operational control. The platform is designed to resolve customer requests end-to-end, helping businesses improve efficiency and service quality.
Over the past 12 months, the company recorded more than 100x growth in platform usage, driven by partnerships with enterprise clients including Elaraby Group, Raneen, Lucky App, valU, and Bosta, spanning retail, fintech, logistics, and consumer services.
Building toward Series A
The pre-Series A round follows a $5 million prior investment in R&D, which Tactful AI plans to double over the next three years. The company is targeting a Series A raise within the next 12 months.
Investors in the round include Foras AI, M Empire, and deep-tech founders Omar Gabr, Mohamed Samir, and Ahmed Fakhry, alongside the company’s founders, Mohamed Elmasry and Mohamed Hassan.
Return to founder ownership
Tactful AI’s latest milestone comes after a significant ownership transition. The company was acquired in 2022 by European communications firm Dstny, before its founders completed a management buyback in July 2025, regaining full ownership.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Cambridge, UK, Tactful AI maintains strong Egyptian roots. Its platform helps enterprises transform customer data into actionable insights and optimize service operations at scale.
Founder and CEO Mohamed Elmasry said the company deliberately focused on product-market fit rather than rapid expansion, working closely with enterprise customers to understand how agentic AI performs in real-world production environments.
