Visa Unveils Intelligent Commerce Connect to Accelerate AI-Driven Payments

Visa Inc. has launched Intelligent Commerce Connect, a new solution designed to simplify how businesses integrate and participate in the fast-growing world of AI-powered commerce.

The platform serves as a unified “on-ramp” for agentic commerce—enabling developers, merchants, and payment enablers to seamlessly connect AI agents to payment systems. It forms part of Visa’s broader Intelligent Commerce portfolio aimed at supporting the next phase of digital transactions.

As consumers increasingly rely on AI agents to discover, select, and purchase products, Intelligent Commerce Connect provides businesses with a streamlined way to enable secure, automated transactions at scale.

Built on the Visa Acceptance Platform, the solution offers a single integration point that supports key functionalities such as secure payment initiation, tokenisation, authentication, and spend controls.

Notably, the platform allows AI agents to process payments using both Visa and non-Visa cards, expanding flexibility and lowering barriers to adoption across the payments ecosystem.

According to Leila Serhan, Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for North Africa, Levant and Pakistan, the solution extends Visa’s trusted infrastructure into emerging digital commerce models.

“Intelligent Commerce Connect brings the same reliable payment acceptance capabilities into AI-driven commerce, enabling businesses to let AI agents transact securely on behalf of consumers,” she said.

The platform also supports integration with major network token providers, allowing businesses to plug into existing credential systems without being locked into a single vendor.

In addition, it enables merchants to accept agent-initiated payments through leading protocols such as Trusted Agent Protocol, Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).

Another key feature is improved product discoverability, as merchants can make their catalogs accessible within AI platforms—allowing users to browse, select, and complete purchases without leaving the AI environment.

For payment enablers, the platform handles transaction orchestration and PCI compliance, reducing operational complexity for businesses managing agent-driven transactions.

With a single integration powering multiple payment experiences, Visa says Intelligent Commerce Connect is positioned to accelerate adoption of AI-led commerce while maintaining security, scalability, and flexibility across the global payments ecosystem.
