The MTN Foundation has strengthened its push for digital inclusion in education by equipping teachers with laptops at Cloetesville High School, in a move aimed at enhancing STEM learning outcomes.
The initiative, led by MTN South Africa, was implemented in partnership with the Department of Basic Education and the Department of Home Affairs, reflecting a coordinated, multi-stakeholder approach to improving education delivery.
While government agencies focused on providing essential services directly to students, the MTN Foundation targeted educators—supplying laptops to STEM teachers to support more effective, technology-driven teaching methods.
Driving Digital Learning in Classrooms
The intervention is designed to empower teachers with the digital tools needed to deliver modern, relevant instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). By enhancing educators’ capacity, the initiative aims to better prepare students for higher education, future careers, and participation in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Collaboration at the Core
The Cloetesville project underscores the growing importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors in addressing gaps within the education system. By aligning resources and expertise, stakeholders are working to create more sustainable and impactful learning environments.
Part of a Broader Strategy
The laptop donation forms part of the MTN Foundation’s wider commitment to advancing education across South Africa through improved access, digital inclusion, and long-term partnerships.
As the demand for digital skills continues to rise, initiatives like this signal a shift toward equipping both teachers and students with the tools needed to thrive in a technology-driven future.
