OmniBiz Africa has launched OmniOne, a new digital platform aimed at transforming traditional trade within Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
Described as a “commerce engine,” OmniOne is designed to modernise the largely informal distribution system that still dominates retail across the country. The company said the product builds on its years of on-the-ground operations, leveraging an established network of distributors and retailers to introduce a more data-driven approach to supply chain management.
Traditional FMCG trade in Nigeria has long been hindered by fragmented supply chains, limited access to financing, and heavy reliance on manual processes for inventory and ordering. According to OmniBiz, these inefficiencies have constrained growth and made it difficult for manufacturers and distributors to make real-time decisions.
With OmniOne, manufacturers can integrate directly into OmniBiz’s distribution ecosystem without overhauling existing structures. The platform enables real-time tracking of goods, improved visibility across the supply chain, and data insights to guide stock management and distribution strategies.
A key component of the platform is its embedded financial services offering, which provides distributors with access to credit based on their transaction history and performance. This is expected to ease liquidity challenges and support small and medium-sized businesses that often struggle with limited financing options.
Rather than replacing traditional trade, OmniBiz says OmniOne enhances it—bridging the gap between informal retail networks and modern digital infrastructure. The platform aims to deliver greater efficiency, transparency, and scalability across Nigeria’s FMCG value chain.
The launch signals a broader push to digitise commerce in Nigeria, as companies increasingly look to technology to unlock growth in one of Africa’s largest consumer markets.
